What is the Par-Stats "Competition Index"?


The Par-Stats Competition Index is a USGA compatible golfer handicap that can be used in exactly the same manner as their Handicap Index.

The term 'Handicap Index' is trademarked and legally protected by the USGA exclusively for their organization's use.

Use the following equation to figure the correct handicap to be used for any particular round of golf:


(Player's Competition Index or Handicap Index) x (Slope Rating for Course & Tees)

*113 is the USGA designated slope rating for a golf course & tee markers of "average difficulty." Slope ratings higher than 113 are considered more difficult and may result in a round handcap higher than the Competition Index (or Handicap Index, if used).
